Coding Activities for Youth

Scratch is designed especially for ages 8 to 16, but is used by people of all ages. Millions of people are creating Scratch projects in a wide variety of settings, including homes, schools, museums, libraries, and community centers.

Students are learning with Scratch at all levels (from elementary school to college) and across disciplines (such as math, computer science, language arts, social studies). Educators share stories, exchange resources, ask questions, and find people on the ScratchEd website.

Scratch is used in more than 150 different countries and available in more than 40 languages. To change languages, click the menu at the bottom of the page. Or, in the Project Editor, click the globe at the top of the page. To add or improve a translation, see the translation page.

Club Activities and Workshops

your child enjoys a wrap-up activity to reinforce the skills he or she learned in at the workshops. They're helping each other, they're solving problems, they're working in teams, they're looking for solutions in a fun way!

One of Code

We are teaching them to code, however, not so much as an end in itself but because our world has morphed: so many of the things we once did with elements such as fire and iron, or tools such as pencil and paper, are now wrought in code. We are teaching coding to help our kids craft their future.

In this collection we share many different perspectives on coding, from a university professor's vantage point (MIT's Mitch Resnick describes why learning to code is like learning to learn) to an entrepreneur's reflections from his cross-country roadtrip to bring coding--and his stuffed dog--to classrooms across the U.S.

.

Code Development

Coding is a big deal right now. Worldwide, 36 million kids have taken part in “Hour of code” activities, helping them become active, rather than passive users of technology and starting learning that might one day help secure a job in our increasingly tech-driven world. We need hands on training activities we're kids canteach and learn from each other in the Claas room and in our community to part of daily tools youth have access to.

Program for Non-coder's

Even if your kids don’t go on to code for living, a basic understanding of programming concepts improves problem-solving and thinking skills which are both transferable and empowering. Microsoft chairman Bill Gates says that: “Learning to write programs stretches your mind and helps you think better, creates a way of thinking about things that I think is helpful in all domains.“

Platforms like Scratch and Alice let children (and adults) create their own games and animations using simplified coding methods. But not all kids can or want to jump straight into these sort of environments. For them, there are plenty of games around that will teach the basics of programming in a fun and accessible way.

 Interns and Mentors

We have many volunteer/intern projects . What is truly unique here is that your interests and talents shape the project you undertake. We have several broadly defined goals that come to reality through your individual interest and skills.

Our program is flexible for Coders and Non-coders. We accept applications continuously and for any period of time based on your availability.

CODE-N.E.W. (Neiborhood Educational Workshops) 4KiDS

One hour of coding a day is recommended as a learning model with fun activities found on online for free. We're helping Kids to understand Coding with activities to build a understanding of Coding and Computational thinking.

Our Workshops are setup to facilitate ONE HOUR OR MORE of Coding Activities for Youth  in coordination with  Host Community Centers, After School Programs sites, or Boys & Girls Clubs.
